- 2N3055 — classic Bedini workhorse (~15A), needs heatsink
- TIP35C — high current builds
- MOSFET (e.g. IRFP250N) — fast switching, advanced control
Always heatsink. Check pinouts twice. For high RPM, transistor fT (transition frequency) and MOSFET gate drive quality matter.
